OCZ Technology introduces high-speed SATA II SSD *Update: price
Written by Andreas G 13 March 2008 10:37

OCZ has entered the SSD race by announcing a series of ultra-fast OCZ SATA II 2.5" Solid State Drives. The series contains two models, 32GB and 64GB, both sporting 120MB/s read speed and 100MB/s write speed. With lightning-fast access times and low power consumption, the drive is ideal for mobile solutions. Both the look of the drive and the specifications are suspiciously similar to those of Samsung's recently unveiled high-end Solid State drive series. Not that it really matters if they are just rebranded units, we're just happy to see more and especially faster SSDs.

It weighs only 77g and has a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 2 million hours. That should be enough for anyone. No word on the price or availability yet.

Update: The MSRP is set at $499 for the 32GB model, $1,099 for the 64GB model.
