The OpenOffice.org community has announced version 2.4 of its open source OpenOffice.org office suit. It includes better PDF handling and printing enhancements for all applications. Writer has been updated with better spell checking settings, keyboard shortcuts and find-replace. Calc data handling has been streamlined, and improvements to moving data from multiple cells and transforming data into columns.
Both Draw and Impress have been upgraded with better usability, and new 3D transitions. The Chart module has also been updated with more intelligent default choices. Base now supports Access 2007 (accdb files) and has enhanced capabilities for MySQL, Oracle/jdbc, and native (HSQL) databases.
This and more can be found in the new version of OpenOffice.org.
