RivaTuner is one of the most popular tools when it comes overclocking, monitoring and just playing around with your graphics card. The main developer of RivaTuner, also known as Unwinder, has been interviewed by the people over at TechPowerUp. It all started with a hand-built Z80 machine in the early 1990’s, which he began to reverse engineer and write demos for. He then went on to study software development in the the University.
He ventured into graphics when he was disappointed with the control panel supplied with his NVIDIA Riva 128 graphics card.
"I am a software developer, not a modder," Alex explains. "Exploring undocumented areas of graphics hardware and software is the main area of my interests. Modding drivers is just one of the consequences of it."
The story goes on to tell the tale of how he became with another great software developer of the enthusiast community, W1zzard.
