Sony has announced that it is planning great things for the Blu-ray format and hopes to increase its market share from 20% to 50%, in 2008 already. From mainly focusing on its video game console PlayStation 3 for promoting Blu-ray, it will move on to HD LCD TVs with integrated Blu-ray recorders and other Blu-ray products. We will just have to wait and see if Sony succeeds, and even though we're certainly looking forward to more Blu-ray products we're a bit skeptical to the 50%. Just the fact that Blu-ray prices have been going up since the fall of HF DVD feels like a bad sign.
