SilverStone Nightjar ST45NF with completely passive cooling
Written by Andreas G 11 June 2008 20:09

SilverStone is a leading manufacturer of enthusiast-geared power supplies and it has now released a new, quite interesting model which is not targeted for those who want raw power, but a different kind of fastidious users. Nightjar ST45NF is namely specified at 450W, which is hardly anything to brag about today. However, its built on a 600W platform and doesn't need a fan for cooling. This means that the power supply is completely silent and still sport an efficiency of more than 80%. The power supply is made from 100% aluminum and has two 6-pin PCIe connectors and one 8-pin PCIe connector for the latest graphics cards.

The PSU can squeeze out 35A on the 12V rail, 22A on the 3.3V and 15A on the 5V rail without making as much as a beep. It can handle as much as 430W on the 12V rail, which means that ST45NF should be enough for most systems, especially the multimedia and HTPCs. SilverStone Nightjar ST45NF costs €170.
