We were eagerly awaiting the resurrection of AMD's FX series this quarter, alas it is not coming. Not now, not the next quarter. AMD was having so much trouble getting the frequency up that it simply decided to put it the FX 9x models (two sockets) on hold indefinitely, and move the FX 8x model (one socket) up to Q4 this year. Instead AMD will try to focus more on its Black Edition models with unlocked multipliers. The Deneb FX core is in no way canceled, but it is in limbo right now. AMD is said to be in observation mode and if it sees a need for the FX series it will try to speed things up, otherwise the FX series may very well just fade away.
