ASUS Eee Monitor - more than just a monitor
Written by Andreas G 03 July 2008 19:57

The ASUS Eee series began with the launch of Eee PC, but has now grown to include other systems and products than just ultraportables. The Eee series will soon be broadened further to include the Eee Monitor, which we've covered in some of our previous reports. The name may be somewhat confusing though, because it's much more than just a monitor. It's been said that ASUS has developed Eee Monitor as an alternative to Apple iMac and Dell XPS One (LCD monitors integrated with the remaining computer components) and this has now been confirmed by a reliable source.

Eee Monitor is a complete computer housed inside a LCD monitor casing, we're not sure about the exact size of the monitor. We would estimate it to be somewhere around 19-20". The earlier pictures published by Laptop Mag shows all of the out and inputs, such as USB, sound, network, memory card reader and more.

ASUS will be using its popular Eee brand to the fullest and if it is successful in creating more affordable products in the same spirit as the original, we see no reason to complain.
