Mionix Saiph 3200 - the ultimate gaming mouse?
Written by Andreas G 09 July 2008 21:53

Mionix is a brand new, and Swedish I might add, company that has just launched its first products. Mionix is a gaming company focusing on the most important of all input devices, the mouse. Mionix has designed and develop two mice and two pads to go with them. Saiph 1800 and Saiph 3200 are the names of the two mice. The numbers in the names explain how many dpi the laser is capable of. Thus, Saiph 3200 has a resolution of a whopping 3200 dots per inch. Just having the Saiph 1800 model would have been impressive to be honest.

Mionix has shared detailed specifications for the two mouse models and there a couple of things that separates them. Obviously Saiph 3200 has the most impressive list of features with 3200 dpi, 7 step in-game dpi adjustment, 16KB of built-in memory, while Saiph 1800 has 1800 dpi, 4 step in-game adjustment and 8KB of built-in memory. Both mice has 40,000Hz sampling rate, can handle up to 20G and 50 inch/s, has teflon feet for best possible glide and five programmable buttons.

There are some design variations as well as you can see from the pictures.

As always with mouse pads, it's very subjective what kind of surface you prefer or even what kind of material. Mionix has you covered in most departments there as most gamers of today either used a coated cloth pad or a hard plastic PVC pad. Alioth is for those who prefer coated cloth, Izar for the PVC fans. Both measure 320x270mm.

We're awaiting high resolution pictures.
