Samsung SpinPoint N2 external harddrive spotted
Written by Andreas G 28 August 2008 19:40

The SpinPoint N2 series from Samsung unlocked plenty of storage with portable media players and other handheld devices. Its 1.8" format makes it possible to hide SpinPoint N2 pretty much anywhere, which is something Samsung has used to the fullest with its latest external harddrive. The new external Samsung SpinPoint N2 harddrive has now been released on the Chinese market, alas we haven't been able to find the official name of the drive. It can store up to 120GB and has a black piano paint, which adds up to some decent storage and stylish storage at the size of a credit card.

The harddrive spins at 4200RPM and uses the USB interface for communication. It tops out at 23MB/s write speed and 27MB/s read speed. Far from lightning fast, but with 1.4W power consumption and a size that fits into your wallet it's hard to complain really. Unfortunately, the designer drive will leave a hole in your wallet bigger than the drive itself. The 120GB drive costs $235 USD in China, but we have no idea when this beauty will reach outside of Asia.
