MSI Wind 9 cell battery for 10 hour battery time?
Written by Andreas G 05 October 2008 21:00

MSI Wind was one of the first netbooks sporting a 10" display to be unveiled, and this bit larger format does seem a bit more convenient thanks to the larger keyboard and easier to read display. MSI has had some major supply issues and we're still waiting for the new 6 cell battery that will more or less double the battery time. The 6 cell battery should make the Wind capable of up to 6 hours without an outlet, but there is an even better option coming, one that will enable up to 10 hours without static power supply.

Over at Eeepcnews.de they've published pictures of a MSI Wind with a 9 cell battery that seems to ready for market, made by an unidentified manufacturer. You will have to get used to a much clumsier notebook if you want to enjoy the 10 hours we're hearing about, we imagine there are people willing to do so.

The price of MSI's 6 cell Wind battery is around €100 and is expected to come in stock in about a week. The 9 cell battery is said to launch in November, but again, you should not expect availability soon if you're in any of the smaller markets.
