The Ubuntu Team has announced the release of Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop and Server, along with the siblings Kubuntu, Xubuntu, UbuntuStudio, and Mythbuntu. The most significant updates of the Desktop include X.org 7.4, enabling automatic configuration of input devices, 3G networking support, Guest account, Gnome 2.24 with the Nautilus file manager, and Linux kernel 2.6.27. Do be aware that this is a beta and change the desktop wallpaper fast, it looks like something the cat dragged in.
