Unknown 9 cell battery enables up to 10h battery time with MSI Wind
Written by Andreas G 05 November 2008 19:29

MSI Wind is still a bit hard to get a hold of over here and even if MSI has started selling its 6 cell battery in stores not everyone is totally satisfied with the battery time  that comes from the somewhat larger battery. As we're reported previously there is an even larger battery that will work with MSI Wind, Medion and Advent (More or less the same netbook with other brands). The new battery sports 9 cells and has now leaked on to eBay UK at very competitive prices.

The batteries ship from China and the cost including shipping to the UK is just under £70. That is about the same as a 6 cell battery in stores. In the forum at MSIWind.net several users have ordered the battery, received it and published both pictures and battery tests. Most reports points to battery time between 8-10 hours with WiFi on, which sounds quite promising.

"It came to just under £70 including four day delivery via FedEx and it is giving me around 10 hours (with wifi on and screen brightness at minimum) after two charging cycles. Not bad."

The only drawback is the size of the battery.
