iRiver developing iPhone competitior
Written by Andreas G 12 November 2008 19:59

Apple has managed to grab a significant portion of the American mobile phone market with the iPhone through its regular concept of clean designs and userfriendly products. We see more established mobile manufacturers borrow ideas from iPhone, but also other companies working on similar markets. One of them being Korean company iRiver that has been battling Apple on the media player market for many years. Earlier at CES this year iRiver presented a mobile phone concept and now it seems like the iPhone-like mobile will become reality.

The specifics on the phone are still foggy, as is when the phone will make an appearance a store near you. According to the source it is already decided that the phone will have a touch display, WiFi, video and music playback, dictionary and software for interpreting handwriting on the display. The phone can also connect to iTunes-like music stores.

We are eager to learn more about iRiver's latest creation and certainly hope that it finds its way outside of Korea and across the globe.
