Creative has been very quiet for a long time, mainly only replying to driver issues and other similar matters. The reason it has been so quiet is that it has been working on something big, quoted to be the biggest project it has ever invested in. The new processing chip is called Zii and will be unveiled at CES 2009 in just a week and a half. The recently launched website reveals little, but boldly claims that "Everything you know is about to change".At the same time, Creative has trademarked the term Stemcell Computing, which is supposed to be the core of the matter, pardon the pun. It has been said to be completely different from X-Fi and that it will be used in a variety of products. Whether this is just to make sure the chip is not connected to the software issues of the X-Fi or if it really is a whole kind of chip is uncertain at the time.

Creative has earlier talked about how Creative's business model will change and that it will introduce a whole new product line in the near future. The Zii is it, but the question is what the Zii is.
