ASUS are going all in with its Eee PC netbook/nettop family and if there is anything these systems lack it is a decent optical unit. ASUS has now launched an external optical drive called SDRW-08D1S-U that focuses on a minimalistic style, much like its Eee family. The units uses a slim format and comes with an elegant foot which makes it very space efficient. The optical drive supports DVD burning up to 8X and can be connected to any PC sporting a free USB port.
