Shuttle has been trying to fit more and more power inside its small SFF cubes of its XPC barebone series. We earlier reported on its latest Core i7-based barebone that not only supports Intel's latest high-end processors but also two power and space hogging graphics cards, all inside a small and narrow cube. Shuttle has now taken its "shoe horn concept" to the next level by launching its first Small Form Factor barebone with integrated water cooling.
Shuttle SDXi Carbon uses what Shuttle calls Liquid I.C.E. technology and even if the computer doesn't support Intel's Core i7 processors the self-developed water cooling kit will be enough to cool Intel's Core 2 Extreme QX9770 processor, which at 3.2GHz emits plenty of heat.
Shuttle has managed to fit a complete water cooling kit inside the SFF barebone; pump, blocks and radiator have all been designed to take up as little space as possible.
The hardware can be configured to your own liking, but with everything from 8GB DDR2 memory to 2TB storage and GeForce GTX 285 graphics cards performance should be sufficient. The price of Shuttle's new beauty starts at $2,599, but with maxed out specifications it lands around $4,500.
