GeForce GTX 280M with G92b core coming soon
Written by Andreas G 02 March 2009 18:59

NVIDIA has had the most powerful graphics circuit since it released its GT200 architecture, found with both GeForce GTX 280 and the newer GeForce GTX 285. NVIDIA is about to announce the first GTX circuits for the mobile market at Cebit, March 3rd. There seems to be a slight problem though, as GeForce GTX 280M and 260M are not really GT200-based, according to sources it is based on the older G92b architecture.

NVIDIA's new mobile graphics circuits will most likely be very fast, but once again one might wonder if the naming is really all that great. There is actually word of three different mobile circuits and third one is GeForce GTS 160, which is intended to go up against Mobility Radeon HD 4670. While the bigger brothers will battle Mobility Radeon HD 4870 (GTX 280M) and Mobility Radeon HD 4850 (GTX 260M).

During Cebit we expect to see several new notebooks sporting NVIDIA's new chips.
