As expected AMD has released the third driver of the year and Catalyst 9.3 brings several notable news. As reported a while back Catalyst 9.3 is AMD's first official Windows 7 driver. The manufacturer has increased the functionality of its Vista driver to make it compatible with both Windows Vista and Windows 7. Even though Microsoft is still in the beta stage with Windows 7 the feedback has been very positive, which AMD has adapted in the best possible manner.
The new drivers bring full support for WDDM 1.1 and include ATI Radeon HD 4000/3000 and 2000 series. AMD even claims that the gaming performance will be better in Windows 7 than Vista in some cases.
Considering the performance AMD has also optimized the support for Folding@Home with the new driver that will give a noticeable increase with the three latest generations of Radeon HD.

Catalyst 9.3 is also the first driver to bring Windows Vista's HDMI audio driver integrated. This will be standard in future Catalyst releases.
