Dell going back to Linux for its netbooks?
Written by Andreas G 23 May 2009 14:23

Even if Windows XP has become the dominating operating systems for netbooks it was the open source operating systems that dominated the market to begin with. Back then most companies shipped their netbooks with different Linux distributions, and it looks like we might be going back to those days soon. Dell has released a video where it demonstrates Android Cupcake and Ubuntu Netbook Remix on a Dell mini 10v.

There are still many advantages of running a lighter and better optimized operating system, at least for those who can handle the perhaps less familiar environment. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but it would be an interesting move by Dell it decided to go against the current trend.
