Shuttle is widely known for its Small Form Factor computers and lately it has been turning to Intel's energy efficient Atom CPU for its systems. It has now launched the new Shuttle XS29 series where it relies on another power efficient processor, but this time from VIA. The Nano processor is the heart of the SFF system and as expected Shuttle has used an even smaller formfactor than the recognized XPC cube. XS29 is intended as a complete PC and is completely silent since it has no fans.

The XS29 series comes in two versions powered by the VIA Nano processors: the XS29 is based on the VIA Nano L series processor, which is designed to deliver advanced computation and power efficiency. The XS29F is a fanless design that runs the VIA Nano U series processor which greatly reduces energy consumption and improves thermal management at the same time.
It's a conventional way to use fans as a cooling solution to dissipate heat away from computer. It usually causes noise and draws dust into the system. To avoid such concerns, the XS29F is designed without fans and enjoys the benefits of comfort including noise free, dust free and maintenance free.
