Scythe has taken a shine to the concept of CPU coolers cooling more than just the actual processor, clearly shown by its coming Shuriken cooler. Scythe Shuriken is already an interesting cooler for smaller systems as it uses a low profile and fits inside many HTPC cases. The new model of Shuriken isn't just lower but has a broader heatsink with a thin 120mm fan on top that also hovers above surrounding components.
Below are a couple of pictures of the new cooler, but we also know that the weight has gone up a bit to 402g, and that the cooler will support most processors, including Intel's hot Core i7 processors.

It becomes even more interesting when installed on a mini-ITX motherboard, as the big fan more or less covers the entire motherboard, including chipset and memory modules.

The cooler is looking like a really interesting alternative for smaller systems and HTPCs. The current Shuriken models costs around 30€, which hopefully transfers to the new model.
