Written by Andreas G 05 June 2009 21:07

The thinning of notebooks is close to total and ASUS is never late to jump on to the latest trend. It has launched the new UX series that may not be the slimmest around but it is still considerably thin. ASUS UX50V is based on Intel's CULV platform and as a Core 2 Solo SU3500 CPU tied to its 15.5" screen. The screen is High Definition and powered by NVIDIA GeForce G105M. The notebooks is 18.6-28.6mm thin and weighs 2.6kg, which is acceptable for such a large model. The price is 949€.

ASUS introduces the new UX series - with design in focus

Stockholm June 3rd  2009 -
ASUS introduces the new UX notebook series with form and design in focus. The most eye-catching feature about the UX notebooks is the ultra slim, lightweight profile and its glossy piano finish which gives an exclusive look. While most thin and light notebooks have a problem of scaled back functionality, the UX-series promises an exquisitely crafted, thin and lightweight notebook that takes away nothing in terms of functionality so you can be sure to use it for all your daily computing needs. A notebook from ASUS UX series is an exquisitely designed accessory for the style conscious professional who seeks to complement their personality with an exclusive notebook.
The slot-in ODD, the shimmering glitters on the LCD cover as well as the backlighting of the illuminated keyboard and the interactive touchpad all reflect ASUS’ attention to detail.

Design with functionality
The UX series offers crisp and vibrant images with its energy efficient LED-backlit display, powered by a NVIDIA® GeForce® G 105M which offers spectacular graphics, stunning clarity and effortless mobility. Altec Lansing speakers featuring SRS Premium Sound™ gives you exceptional audio reproduction. The UX series is also equipped with Intel® ULV (ultra low voltage) processor which gives a longer battery time making UX series the perfect travel mate, whether it’s for business trip or pleasure. A special technology automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to ensure visual comfort and ease whether you are using your notebook in daylight or darkness.
The UX series also incorporates Express Gate which allows users access to a host of commonly used applications such as instant messaging clients and a multimedia manager, as well as the Internet in just 8 seconds.*
