ASUS BR-HD3 does wireless HD streaming with HDMI
Written by Andreas G 10 June 2009 19:09

ASUS BR-HD3 is sold as a package for wireless HDMI systems. The package consists of transmitter and receiver that can stream High Definition media wirelessly in the house or office. The transmitter is connected to a PC or other HDMI device and then talks to the receiver through a wireless 802.11n network that most likely sits in another room with the TV.

The receiver has an HDMI output that connects to the TV and it's really the only cable you need. All communication between transmitter and receiver is wireless.

According to sources ASUS BR-HD3 does not support 1080p signals or multi-channel audio but the units handle 720p and 1080i signals with HDCP to make sure there is no unauthorized viewing.

ASUS has gone with a black piano painted design that does feel clean and perhaps it can upgrade the specifications a bit and make it a serious option while we await the real Wireless HDMI technology.
