Large graphics card coolers have been plenty over the years, but when Zalman launches the new ZM-RHS90 cooler it weighs only 55g. It's not for cooling the entire card though, but intended for cooling the power circuitry of AMD's latest graphics card, Radeon HD 4870 and 4890. Zalman ZM-RHS90 is named after the MOSFET transistors used by the graphics cards for supplying the GPU with current.
The MOSFETs can get really hot and often require separate cooling. Those who use Zalman's GPU cooler that doesn't have a full cover design should perhaps consider the new MOSFET cooler,, at least Zalman seem to think so, that fits all reference design 4870 and 4890 graphics cards.
The mounting is simple thanks to the push-pins and shouldn't cost all that much.
