HP Photosmart Premium with 4.33" LCD and Internet support
Written by Andreas G 23 June 2009 19:47

Many multi-function devices are capable of doing most things on their own; everything from printing to scanning or faxing. The majority of these devices have in common that they need a computer to do their job, neglecting printing from USB memories or memory cards directly. HP has launched the Photosmart Premium multi-function "printer" with 4.33" LCD and TouchSmart Web for browsing the web.

HP realized that the majority of data being printed today is found online and by launching the world's first Internet connected multi-function printer it hope to change our way of printing.

The large LCD has touchscreen support and is used to navigate the menus but also for browsing the web to find material for printing. The printer connects with either Ethernet or Wi-Fi to print material from wireless devices of all shapes and sizes.

The Internet feature is made possible though so called HP Apps that optimizes the use of different Internet services. From launch day there are several Apps available for, e.g. Google Maps and DreamWorks Animation where you can play movie trailers on the LCD.

The price of HP Photosmart Premium will be around $400 and launches this fall.
