OCZ offers a wide selection of Solid State Drives and its Vertex family has been well received. The performance of Vertex with its Indilinx memory controllers are swell from boot, but OCZ has now revealed that it has a Turbo version of Vertex coming, offering even higher read and write speeds. OCZ Vertex Turbo will use handpicked flash memory circuits and memory controller that will enable speeds up to 278MB/s and write speeds up to 213MB/s.
That would make Vertex Turbo around 10 percent faster than the standard model and OCZ says that the price will about 10 percent higher too.
According to the information posted at the OCZ forum the new and faster Vertex drives will start shipping in just a few weeks and they say it is not impossible to get even higher performance, read speed, from today's SSDs due to limitations in the SATA 2 interface.

SATA 6Gbps is starting become a necessity for the SSD industry as they keep raising the bar for data transfer rates.
