We are eagerly awaiting the official uncovering of Intel's first 32nm processors. With the right connections and an address around the corner of most circuit manufacturers you can get a hold of engineering samples of Intel's 32nm processors. Overclocker Coolaler has posted some 32nm Clarkdale information in the past, but he has taken things further now and started testing the overclocking potential of the new processors.
He has overclocked a Clarkdale 3.06GHz processor to 4GHz, which perhaps may not sound that much, but then it should be pointed out that the processor was fed with just 0.832V, which is extremely low compared to the 45nm processors of today that require voltage just north of 1.0V to run at stock speed.
The Clarkdale CPU sports dual processor cores with HyperThreading support for up to four simultaneous threads. Each core sports 256KB L2 cache and they share 4MB L3 cache.
The overclocking was performed using a regular air cooler, Tower120, which makes it even more impressive. We are really looking forward to seeing what retail samples of Intel's new processors can do.
