Thecus N8800SAS for up to 16TB of network storage
Written by Andreas G 28 July 2009 21:11

Storage maker Thecus continues to release network storage solutions for the home and businesses and its latest product is for the small companies in need of lots of storage. Thecus N8800SAS is a NAS solution with eight 3.5" slots offering up 16TB capacity, using either SATA or SAS harddrives. The 2U system comes with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and 450W power supply.

To make sure there are no bottlenecks within the system itself, N8800SAS comes with a Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB DDR2 RAM. Something that should be more than enough for the various RAID configurations you can use; RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 or JBOD.

Constantly innovating, Thecus® has released a number of world firsts, and today, Thecus® is proud to announce another one: the N8800SAS – the world’s first rackmount NAS to feature SAS hard disk support for blistering data performance.

Thecus has used its Dual DOM technology that will keep the server running when the primary system fails.

More information on Thecus N8800SAS is available at the company website. The price of N8800SAS is yet to be announced, but like the most advanced storage solutions it will be high.
