We have known for a very long time that Intel's Lynnfield and P55 launch would happen in September, but that the actual products for the LGA1156 platform would be ready in August already. It looks like some companies decided to jump the launch as the first Intel P55 motherboards have appeared in stores. In China you can get two models from Gigabyte far ahead of Intel's official launch next month.
Gigabyte P55-UD4 and P55-UD3R both offers 10 phase power circuitry, dual PCIe X16 slots, 8 channel audio, 10 SATA II ports, Ultra Durable 3 technology and many more nice features.
The top model P55-UD4 also sports firewire and Gigabyte's new Smart TMP technology, which is used for protecting important data from other users.
Gigabyte P55-UD4 costs 279 USD while P55-UD3R costs 234 USD. So far there are no Socket 1156 motherboards around here, but before we see any processors it doesn't really matter.
