Scythe makes some noise ...
Written by Andreas G 17 August 2009 19:13

Scythe is careful not to make much noise, efficient cooling should make any. Considering that, the company has now made a pretty interesting launch in the form of an amplifier and speakers to complete the set. Not just nay plastic mini-satellites either, but sturdy wooden two-way speakers. Scythe Kro Craft 2.0 is the name of the speakers and with a black wooden finish they house 100mm mid-range driver/woofer and 25mm tweeter.

The speakers can handle up to 20W at 8 Ohm output audio between 58Hz and 20kHz. They ship with gold-plated connectors and measures 144 x 250 x 210 mm.

Perhaps not the most high-end of speakers and Scythe has also announced the Kama Bay AMP Kro that can be used inside a computer or right next to it, on top of it or just sitting on the desk right next to the speakers. The amplifiers outputs 2x10W and comes with headphone output on the front panel that also has a mute button, volume control and power button.

The circuit board comes with a Yamaha YDA138 circuit and delivers 103dB S/N ratio. The prices of the speakers and amplifier will be around 55€ each, but Scythe will soon announce a package costing around 100€.
