Elecom announces nanoSSDs
Written by Andreas G 02 September 2009 18:52

Elecom Japan has announced two nanoSSD that installs directly into the SATA connector, and nothing more. The drives measure 25x39x6.5mm and can operate either as backup drive or primary drive of smaller systems. The sizes of 8 and 16 GB respectively are backed up by relatively fast speeds. Up to 75 MB/s read speed and 30 MB/s write speed, which should be sufficient for those without strict demands for performance.

The drives don't need cooling and like all other SSDs generate no noise. The drives should appear in stores, in Japan, in the weeks to come. Prices are yet to be revealed.
