Samsung preparing 6-monitor Eyefinity setup
Written by Andreas G 13 September 2009 21:40

AMD's next generation of graphics cards will enable consumers to connect as many as six monitors to a single graphics card, which open up for some truly exciting solutions. The biggest problem for most consumers isn't just to get six matching monitors, but also coordinate these in a good way. To make it a bit easier and at the same time shows what is possible with its new graphics cards AMD has teamed up with Samsung and the result is Samsung Eyefinity.

Samsung Eyefinity is more or less one big monitor made up from six smaller ones. With six 22" monitors sporting 1920x1080 pixel resolution each it becomes possible for users to run games or applications at 5760x2160 pixel resolution. The monitors use a special mounting system and stable telescopic foot that supports panels up to 23".

Even though is no budget solution Samsung Eyefinity will be relatively affordable if we compare it to buying separate monitors. The prices will be somewhere in between one or two 30" Dell monitors. In other words between $1500 to $3000, which could be the perfect Christmas present as Samsung Eyefinity is expected to appear just in time for Santa Claus to pick one up.
