Intel has great faith in the new 32nm node that will be unleashed in the form of Westmere in a few months. At IDF the chip giant presented a whole lot of new information on the architecture, among others through its coming Sandy Bridge CPU. It has also presented a better overview of the manufacturing of the new Westmere architecture and this time through a video where several coworkers tell the story of the different steps in the marking of the new architecture.
They walk you through the planning to the testing of the first silicon and offers a hint of the enormous work that is required to create a CPU that offers optimal performance.
Intel has bet even more on the video format through a new TV series. Together with Sky, Intel has started the series "World of Tomorrow" where the host Ben Shires is let inside the company lab and get to talk to employees on their different jobs at Intel.
Intel’s World of Tomorrow is part of Intel’s Sponsors of Tomorrow campaign and will run from the 21st September until mid-January 2010 and will include 12 three-minute long webisodes across a range of topics including sport, entertainment, news and broadcast, and digital communications. Each webisode was filmed at Intel HQ in California.
