Kingston HyperX hits 3068 MHz in dual channels

Kingston had some help from two overclockers during GamesCom 2010 to break the clock frequency world record for DDR3 memory in dual channels. Kingston's 2333 MHz HyperX memory kit was pushed to 3068 MHz on a Gigabyte P55-UD6 motherboard.

The system was managed by overclockers Benjamin 'Benji Tshi' Bioux and Jean-Baptiste 'marmott' Gerard. They used an Intel Core i7 870 CPU with a very good memory controller, and a Kingston HyperX KHX2333C9D3T1K3/3GX DDR3 memory kit specified to work at 2333 MHz with latencies of 9-11-9-27 at 1.65V.

The exact voltages needed to break the record wasn't mentioned, but they did use liquid nitrogen to cool both the processor and the integrated memory controller, unavoidable not to. The processor was pushed to 4347 MHz while the memory modules were running over 3000 MHz.

Remaining components included a 512GB SSD from Kingston and a Radeon HD 5670 graphics card.
